dj eurok was a featured panelist on The Kojo Nnamdi Show on October 8, 2007. Our discussion was about the intersections of hip hop and race.
Hip hop artists are at the center of debates about offensive lyrics, misogyny, and negative stereotypes of people of color. But there’s been less focus on the people who distribute and buy the music, from parents to record executives to teenage fans. We explore how demand influences supply in today’s record industry, and whether the space for provocative, thoughtful music is shrinking.
