Voices of a People’s History of the United States and the Zinn Education Project proudly present a special performance of THE PEOPLE SPEAK LIVE at NCORE 2010.

Using dramatic and musical performances of the letters, diaries, songs and speeches of everyday Americans, this inspiring show gives voice to those who spoke up for social change throughout U.S. history, forging a nation from the bottom up with their insistence on equality and justice. Performers include LAUREN COOPER from Zinn Education Project as a narrator; DAVE ZIRIN, author of A People’s History of Sports and many other titles as a narrator and reader; Emmy winning veteran broadcast journalist RENEE POUSSAINT; PJ URQUILLA, on the board of Teaching for Change, who is also a DJ !; DJ EARTH 1NE who will be spinning pre-show and short outros after each reading; ASHBY SEMPLE, a public school teacher and theater actor;
REGIE CABICO, slam poet champion and director of Sol Y Soul; and, radio journalist, actor and writer WILMA CONSUL.
